Rooted Bodywork & Lymphatics is a therapeutic massage practice dedicated to personalized, results driven care. Founded by Ava Barwick, a Licensed Massage Therapist with over 11 years of experience, the practice blends medical knowledge with a deeply intuitive touch.
Ava began her career in a medical massage clinic in Arizona, where she spent seven years honing her skills in clinical bodywork before relocating to Charlotte, NC in 2022. Her passion for specialized care led her to become certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage using the Vodder Method in 2018, a foundational moment that deepened her understanding of the lymphatic system and its vital role in healing.
In January 2025, Ava advanced her training by becoming a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT), a milestone deeply rooted in her own healing journey. After being diagnosed with breast cancer, she experienced firsthand the physical and emotional challenges that come with recovery. That personal experience reignited her commitment to lymphatic care and inspired her to support others navigating similar paths.
